Six villages have the privilege of sharing this subtle and enchanting cru, considered the darling of Parisian brasseries. The most southerly of all the Beaujolais Crus, Brouilly has good colour, backbone and is full-bodied revealing aromas of plums and peaches. Total surface area: 1 328 ha, of which Henry Fessy has 7.5 ha.

This Chénas grown on steep, granite-rich soils, is reminiscent of a Moulin-à-Vent with its deep colour and aromatic bouquet of violets and roses. This is one of the smallest appellations in the Beaujolais. Total vineyard area: 249ha, of which Henry Fessy has 3 ha.

Grown on the higher slopes of the appellation on thin, feeble soils of granite sand the Chiroubles is an elegant wine with finesse, charm, subtle tannins and a beautiful bouquet of violets. Total vineyard area: 366ha.

This vineyard lies on very hard granite and green-blue schist called Diorite. This is also the oldest vineyard in Beaujolais producing a more structured wine than its neighbour Brouilly. Total surface area: 315 ha, of which Henry Fessy has 4 ha.

Lying on homogeneous soils of granite containing large crystals, Fleurie is often regarded as the « Queen of Beaujolais ». The wines are characterized by abounding finesse and elegance with floral aromas of irises and violets. Total surface area: 871 ha, of which Henry Fessy has 5 ha.

Planted on sedimentary soils with old alluvial deposits, the Juliénas is a well-structured wine, rich in colour and with a good cellaring potential. Total vineyard area: 594 ha, of which Henry Fessy has 2 ha.

The second largest cru after Brouilly lies in one village only. Here, Gamay produces generous, robust wines which are fruit-forward with notes of cherry, kirsch and apricot. With a good cellaring potential Morgon comes close to a Burgundian Pinot Noir. Appellation size: 1 079 ha, of which Henry Fessy has 2 ha.

The boundaries of Moulin-à-Vent were marked out as early as 1924. The vineyard has shallow sandy soils derived from the underlying granite which is rich in manganese. This kind of terroir gives much substance and the resulting wines are often compared to their Burgundian cousins of the Côte d'Or. Moulin-à-Vent can be cellared for several years. Appellation size : 663ha, of which Henry Fessy has 2.5 ha.

Regnié is one of the youngest Beaujolais crus producing supple and delicate wines with aromas of gooseberry, blackberry and raspberry. The "Château des Reyssiers" vineyard, now belonging to the Latour family, is a 300 year old domain located at the heart of the appellation. Total Vineyard area of the "Château des Reyssiers": 14 ha, of which Henry Fessy has 14 ha.

Lying on siliceous clay, sandstone and granite gravel, Saint-Amour is the gateway between the Mâconnais and the Beaujolais crus. The style favours expression and fruit. Total surface area: 323 ha, of which Henry Fessy has 1 ha.

The Beaujolais appellation provides about half of all the wine produced in the Beaujolais region. The Henry Fessy Beaujolais comes mainly from domain vines planted on the plateau of Bel-Air which borders the Brouilly appellation next to the winery. Total vineyard area: 8 439 ha, of which Henry Fessy has 15 ha.

This Beaujolais-Villages comes from several villages located in the northern part of the region. A large percentage of this blend comes from our own spectacular 45° sloped vineyards of old vines. These wines combine finesse, flavour and roundness and are perfect for immediate enjoyment. Total surface area: 6 000 ha, of which Henry Fessy has 13 ha.

Chardonnay is the predominant grape variety in the Mâconnais, however it represents less than 3% of grapes grown in the Beaujolais. The particularity of this rare and refreshing white Beaujolais is that it is grown on granite soils. This terroir produces a Chardonnay of great finesse, revealing notes of white flowers and acacia on the nose and yellow fruits, notably mirabelle plums, in the mouth. Total surface area: 600 ha, of which Henry Fessy has 1 ha.
